Frequently Asked Questions
How much does boarding cost?
Boarding is $50 per day for the first dog and $40 per day for each additional dog from the same household.
Boarding is billed by calendar day, with your dog's arrival day, departure day, and each day in between included in the reservation total. This allows your dog to enjoy their full stay with us without having to rush back for an early pickup. Our pickup window is available from 8:00 AM–6:00 PM, so you're welcome to choose the time that works best for you.
A $50 deposit is required to reserve your dog's stay. Your reservation is not confirmed until the deposit has been received, and the deposit is applied toward your final balance.
If a holiday falls during your dog's stay, a one-time $25 holiday care fee will be added to the reservation. This is charged once per reservation, not per day.
We believe in simple, transparent pricing, so there are no hidden fees for the personalized care, nature walks, playtime, enrichment, or photo and video updates included with every stay.
What vaccinations are required?
The health and safety of every guest is one of our highest priorities. To help provide a clean and healthy boarding environment, all dogs must be current on the following vaccinations before their stay:
Rabies
DHPP
Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
Vaccination records must be uploaded through our pet portal before your reservation can be confirmed.
If your dog isn't currently up to date, we recommend scheduling an appointment with your veterinarian before requesting boarding. These requirements help protect not only your dog, but every guest staying with us.
What is included with my dog's stay?

Your dog's stay includes:

There are no surprise add-on fees for the care and attention we believe every dog deserves. Our goal is to make every stay feel like home away from home.
We understand that every dog is unique. Whether your dog is energetic, shy, or simply adjusting to a new environment, we take the time to help them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for throughout their stay.
How do I know if my dog is a good fit for Zaine's Stay & Play?
Dogs who do best at Zaine’s Stay & Play are friendly or neutral around other dogs, comfortable with people, able to settle between activities, and capable of relaxing independently in their private suite.
Because our household dogs and a small number of boarding guests share the property, dogs must be able to coexist calmly and safely within our small-pack environment. They do not have to play with every dog, but they cannot display persistent reactivity, intimidation, resource guarding, aggression, or behavior that requires continuous separation or one-on-one management.
Dogs must also be spayed or neutered once they are old enough to safely undergo the procedure.
A complimentary Meet & Greet is required before every dog’s first stay. This helps us learn about your dog and evaluate whether our environment is an appropriate fit, although acceptance cannot be guaranteed based on the Meet & Greet alone.
Complete and honest information about your dog’s personality, routines, fears, behavior, and previous boarding experiences helps us make the safest decision for your dog, our household, and every guest in our care.
Why choose Zaine's Stay & Play?
At Zaine’s Stay & Play, we believe boarding should feel personal, comfortable, and familiar. We intentionally welcome only a small number of carefully selected guests so every dog receives attentive care in a calm, home-style environment.
Each guest has a clean, comfortable private suite along with supervised outdoor time, enrichment, walks when appropriate, personal attention, and opportunities to safely socialize and play.
As dog owners ourselves, we understand how much trust it takes to leave your dog in someone else’s care. We take time to learn each guest’s personality, routines, and preferences, and we keep families connected through photo and video updates by text.
Your dog will never be treated like just another kennel number. While you are away, they will be cared for like part of our family—so you can enjoy your time knowing they are safe, comfortable, and enjoying theirs.
What Should I Bring For My Dog’s Stay?
To help your dog feel comfortable and maintain their normal routine, please bring:
Any medications with clear instructions
Your dog's food (pre-portioned if you'd like)
Any treats you would like your dog to receive
A leash and a properly fitted, secure harness for walks
An optional blanket, T-shirt, or other familiar comfort item
Because our walks may encounter wildlife, people, and passing traffic, dogs must have a secure harness that fits correctly and cannot easily be backed out of.
Favorite toys are welcome as long as they can be safely left unattended with your dog. Please do not bring anything your dog may destroy or ingest while resting in their suite.
Let us know about any feeding instructions, medications, routines, or preferences before your dog’s stay so we can keep their care as familiar and consistent as possible.
Do You Offer Meet & Greets?
Yes. A complimentary Meet & Greet is required before every dog’s first stay.
It allows us to meet your dog, discuss their routine and behavior, and determine whether our environment may be an appropriate fit. You will also be able to tour the boarding space and ask questions.
Depending on the Meet & Greet, your dog’s previous boarding experience, or any concerns, a short paid trial stay may be recommended or required before a longer reservation. This gives us a better opportunity to observe how your dog settles after you leave, rests in their private suite, and adjusts to our small-pack environment.
Meet & Greets are scheduled directly with us by appointment only. Completing a Meet & Greet or trial stay does not guarantee acceptance for future boarding.
