About Us

A happy, tan-colored dog lying on lush green grass, smiling with eyes partially closed and tongue slightly visible.

Zaine’s Stay & Play is a small, home-based dog boarding experience built by us — Jon and Stacey — for people who see their dogs as family.

Zaine, who this business is named after, played a huge role in shaping how we care for dogs today. He was rescued at just 3 days old and required around-the-clock feeding and hands-on care in his earliest days. As he grew, he developed environmental and food allergies, which taught us how important attention, consistency, and proper care truly are.

Everything we learned through Zaine is a big part of what we bring into this business today.

Jon completed formal dog training through Animal Behavioral College, and Stacey worked alongside him every step of the way. Stacey also brings hands-on experience from working in dog daycare and boarding environments, along with a pet care role where she worked with dogs of all breeds, temperaments, and needs.

We have also completed a Pet CPR & First Aid Safety course, adding another layer of preparedness and confidence in handling a wide range of situations.

Together, we’ve built a strong understanding of dog behavior, communication, and care — but more importantly, we genuinely love what we do.

Experience You Can Trust

Our experience goes beyond basic care — it comes from both hands-on training and real-life situations with our own dogs and others we’ve worked with.

We’ve cared for and managed dogs with:

  • Medical conditions and ongoing health needs

  • Anxiety and separation-related behaviors

  • Allergies and dietary sensitivities

  • Different temperaments, energy levels, and comfort thresholds

This experience has taught us how to stay calm, observant, and proactive — especially in situations where dogs need extra attention or support.

Our Approach

We’re not a large kennel, and we’re not trying to be.

Zaine’s Stay & Play is designed to feel like home — calm, structured, and safe.

  • Limited number of dogs at a time

  • No overcrowding or chaos

  • Clean, comfortable private suites

  • Supervised outdoor time in a fully fenced yard

  • Dogs are always supervised — in person or via camera

Every dog is treated as an individual, not part of a system.

What Matters To Us

We focus on creating an environment where dogs can relax and owners can feel confident.

That means:

  • Taking the time to understand each dog

  • Keeping the space clean and safe (no harsh chemicals)

  • Being honest and upfront with owners

  • Preventing issues before they start

We’re intentional about the dogs we accept to maintain a calm, balanced environment for everyone.

Why It Works

We built this around one simple idea:

Care for every dog the way we would want someone to care for ours.

That standard doesn’t change.
