Boarding Information

At Zaine’s Stay & Play, boarding is designed to feel safe, personal, and comfortable—never overcrowded or overwhelming. We maintain a small number of private suites so each guest receives attentive care, supervised outdoor time, enrichment, and a clean, comfortable place to rest.

Our home-style environment includes our own dogs and a small number of boarding guests. Dogs staying with us must be able to remain calm around other dogs and safely blend into this small-pack setting. They do not need to play with every dog, but they must be capable of peacefully coexisting without persistent reactivity, intimidation, or disruption.

Before Booking

A complimentary Meet & Greet is required before every dog’s first stay. This gives us an opportunity to learn about your dog, discuss their routine and behavior, and determine whether our environment is the right fit. Completing a Meet & Greet does not guarantee acceptance.

For the safety and comfort of every dog in our care, we are unable to accept dogs with:

  • A history of biting

  • Severe separation anxiety

  • Resource-guarding behavior

  • Persistent reactivity toward other dogs

  • Excessive or unsafe destructive behavior

  • An inability to settle safely when left alone

  • Aggression toward people or other animals

  • Behavior that would require continuous one-on-one care or separation from the other dogs throughout the stay

Dogs must be able to coexist calmly around our household dogs and other boarding guests. Friendly interaction and group play are encouraged when appropriate, but dogs are not required to play together.

All dogs old enough to be safely spayed or neutered must be spayed or neutered before boarding with us.

Please provide complete and honest information about your dog’s health, behavior, triggers, and previous boarding experiences. If important information is withheld, or if a dog displays behavior that cannot be safely managed within our environment, the owner or emergency contact may be required to arrange an early pickup. The reservation will remain charged in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

Every reservation must include a reliable local emergency contact who will be available during the stay. Your emergency contact must be prepared to make timely decisions or pick up your dog if necessary. Please make sure this person knows they have been listed and that their information is current in the pet portal.

Booking & Cancellation Policy

Bookings are made through our pet portal

First dog: $50 per calendar day, plus tax

Additional dog from the same household: $40 per calendar day, plus tax

Boarding is billed by calendar day. The arrival day, departure day, and each calendar day in between are billable.

A one-time $25 holiday fee applies when a holiday falls during the reservation.

A $50 deposit is required to reserve your dog’s stay. Reservations are not confirmed until the deposit has been received.

The deposit is applied toward the final boarding balance, and the remaining balance is due on or before arrival.

Because we maintain a limited number of boarding suites and may decline other requests after dates have been reserved, deposits are non-refundable once received.

We understand that unexpected situations can arise. In cases involving illness, family emergencies, severe weather, or other unforeseen circumstances, management may choose to apply a deposit toward a future stay. This accommodation is considered individually, offered as a courtesy, and is not guaranteed.

Drop-off & Pickup

All drop-offs and pickups are by appointment only. Guests select an available appointment time through the pet portal.

Monday–Friday

  • Drop-off: 3:00 PM–7:00 PM

  • Pickup: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM

Saturday–Sunday

  • Drop-off: 12:00 PM–7:00 PM

  • Pickup: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM

Appointments outside these hours require prior approval and are not guaranteed. Please arrive at your scheduled time so we can provide each family with our full attention and avoid disrupting the dogs’ routines.

Health Requirements

Proof of current vaccinations must be uploaded to the pet portal before arrival.

The following vaccinations are required:

  • Rabies, when age appropriate

  • DHPP or DAPP

  • Bordetella

The canine influenza vaccine is strongly recommended.

Dogs must also be current on flea and tick prevention and arrive healthy and free from contagious illness.

Dogs displaying vomiting, diarrhea, persistent coughing, unexplained lethargy, or other signs of illness will not be accepted. Please notify us if your dog develops symptoms within the three days before their scheduled arrival.

What to Bring

  • Enough food and treats for the entire stay

  • Any medications, clearly labeled, with complete instructions

  • A leash and a properly fitted, secure harness for walks

  • Optional blankets or comfort items your dog can safely be left alone with

For safety, dogs must have a properly fitted harness that they cannot easily back out of or slip. Because our walks may encounter wildlife, people, and passing traffic, relying solely on a collar is not considered secure enough. Please ensure your dog’s harness fits correctly and is in good condition before arrival.

Please do not bring anything your dog may destroy or ingest while resting in their suite.

During Your Dog’s Stay

Our primary method of communication is through text (315) 765-7297.

We provide photo and video updates by text throughout your dog’s stay. You are always welcome to contact us if you have questions or would like an additional update.

Dogs receive supervised outdoor breaks, walks when appropriate, exercise, enrichment, personal attention, and time to rest throughout the day.

Social dogs may participate in carefully supervised group play when appropriate. All interactions are based on the dogs’ behavior, temperament, energy level, and comfort. Dogs may be separated or given individual time whenever that is the safer or more comfortable choice.

Safety & Care

Your dog’s safety and well-being are our highest priorities.

Our boarding environment includes:

  • Private boarding suites

  • Supervised outdoor time and play

  • A small-capacity, home-style setting

  • CPR- and pet-safety-trained caregivers

  • Wi-Fi cameras with night vision and audio

  • Wi-Fi smoke, fire, and carbon monoxide detectors

Our cameras are used by our caregivers for internal monitoring and are not available for customer viewing.
